Nothing But Thieves have released the official music video for their new single “Evolution”, which premiered exclusively on YouTube. The track arrives as the lead single from their upcoming fifth studio album Stray Dogs, set for release on 25 September 2026.

The video captures the band in a raw, high-energy live setting, filmed at The Dome in Tufnell Park, London. Rather than a traditional staged shoot, the production was built around a real crowd experience, with fans invited to take part in the filming as part of a special event hosted with Sony Music.

In the days leading up to the shoot, the band teased the project through Instagram Stories, inviting local followers to “join the pack” at a secret London location and take part in “something special.” The result was a tightly packed, immersive set where fans surrounded the band on all sides, becoming part of the performance itself.

On the day of filming, attendees were treated to a warm-up set that included the band’s fan favourite “Amsterdam”, performed to energise the crowd before cameras rolled on “Evolution.” The approach helped set the tone for what fans have described in social posts as an intense, communal atmosphere, with multiple vlog and short-form clips showing the build-up and behind-the-scenes energy.

Visually, the video places the band at the centre of a circular stage design, with the audience encircling them closely. A drum kit is positioned on a marked floor layout, reinforcing the stripped-back but intentional staging. Throughout the video, retro television sets appear as a key visual motif, with footage of the band performing mirrored across multiple screens placed around the set. Portable TVs also display live feeds of the performance, creating a layered, reflective effect that blends the physical crowd with the broadcasted image.

The final cut frequently switches between the band performing in the centre and fast-moving shots of fans dancing and reacting around them, emphasising the shared energy between artist and audience.

The band has described “Evolution” as a “love letter” to their community, written around ideas of authenticity in an increasingly surface-level world. That message is reflected in the decision to build the video around real fans rather than extras, focusing on physical closeness, spontaneity, and live performance intensity.

Fan footage shared after the shoot has offered additional insight into the production, including clips of the pre-filming atmosphere, stickers handed out on arrival, and the moment the crowd was first ignited during the “Amsterdam” performance before filming officially began.

Taken together, the “Evolution” video presents a deliberately unpolished, human-centred vision of rock performance, positioning connection and presence as its core theme ahead of the release of Stray Dogs later this year.
