In a world that seems to be tipping further off balance by the minute, hope can be hard to come by. John Cologon's new release, "Don't Give in to Despair" addresses this issue head on.

Released September 5th, this upbeat and emotionally impactful song combines the best elements of rock, blues, funk and art pop with a strong beat that is energetic and danceable."I went through a period of doom scrolling, where the way things are going just seemed overwhelming," Cologon says. "I needed to pull back and get some perspective.

This song was the result."This is the third single released since John's deeply probing album, "Seeking the Soul of the Universe", which came out in February. Listen to "Don't Give in to Despair" on your favourite streaming service.

Since he was at school, many years ago, John Cologon has been writing music. His school exercise books were littered with the words of songs that he jotted down during class (there would be maths equations, for example, at the front of the book and songs at the back). Towards the end of, and after leaving school, John was a member of various bands with names like "Dark Alley", "Scrooge", "SPD Limited", "Midnight Rainbow" and, believe it or not, for a brief period, one called "Arnold Ziffle's Zany Twinkle-Toe Sandshoe Band".
