Slash’s Blues Ball Delivers a Legendary Live Performance in New Album

GRAMMY®-winning guitarist and songwriter SLASH is bringing the blues to the forefront with the announcement of his new live album and concert film, Live at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival, set for worldwide release on Friday, November 7, with pre-orders available now. The performance was captured at the Mission Ballroom in Denver, CO on July 17, 2024, during the inaugural S.E.R.P.E.N.T Festival (Solidarity, Engagement, Restore, Peace, Equality N’ Tolerance). The live set showcases SLASH and his powerhouse ensemble, Slash’s Blues Ball, delivering a gritty, soulful homage to the blues legends who shaped rock and roll.
The release kicks off with the first single, “Oh Well (Live),” a fiery rendition of the Fleetwood Mac classic. Channeling Peter Green’s blues roots while injecting his own signature guitar work, SLASH transforms the track into an electrifying live experience. The official video is available online, and fans have been quick to respond, with comments including, “This is so good,” and “Wow this has exceeded every expectation I had, I'm buying this 😳,” highlighting the excitement building ahead of the full album and concert film release.
On Live at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival, Slash’s Blues Ball—featuring SLASH on lead and rhythm guitar, Teddy “ZigZag” Andreadis on keys, harmonica, and vocals, Tash Neal on rhythm guitar and vocals, Johnny Griparic on bass, and Michael Jerome on drums—tears through a setlist of blues standards and rock staples. The performance includes classics such as “Parchman Farm Blues,” “Killing Floor,” “Born Under a Bad Sign,” “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” “Stormy Monday,” and “The Pusher,” along with a brand-new original, “Metal Chestnut.” The encore features fan favorites like “It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry” and a blistering closer, “Shake Your Money Maker.” Intercut with behind-the-scenes interviews, the concert film offers insight into SLASH’s deep connection to the blues and his reverence for the artists who paved the way.
The S.E.R.P.E.N.T Festival not only celebrated the release of SLASH’s critically acclaimed sixth solo album, Orgy of the Damned, but also raised over $125,000 for U.S. nonprofits supporting mental health, social justice, and underserved communities. The festival spanned 23 tour dates across summer 2024 and featured a handpicked all-star blues lineup. Orgy of the Damned spent 13 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Blues Albums chart and remains in the top 50 after 69 weeks, cementing SLASH’s place as a modern blues powerhouse.
Live at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival will be available worldwide in multiple formats, including 2CD+DVD digipak, 2CD+Blu-ray digipak, and a heavyweight black 3LP gatefold. Fans can enjoy the full concert film with behind-the-scenes documentary segments in PCM Stereo and DTS 5.1 audio. The album’s tracklist spans classics like “Crossroads,” “Stone Free,” and “Big Legged Woman,” alongside slow-burn grooves such as “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” and “Stormy Monday,” offering an immersive, loud, live, and dangerous blues experience.
SLASH, the world-renowned guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver, and Slash’s Blues Ball, has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Guns N’ Roses in 2012 and named #2 on TIME’s “10 Greatest Electric Guitar Players” after Jimi Hendrix, SLASH continues to push boundaries while honoring his blues roots. With six solo albums and multiple high-profile collaborations—including Myles Kennedy, Iggy Pop, Chris Stapleton, and Billy F. Gibbons—SLASH remains a defining force in rock and blues.
