Review: Disclosure and Anderson .Paak Deliver Dance-Floor Gold on “No Cap”

Two great artists, Disclosure and Anderson .Paak, have teamed up for a new track called “No Cap”, and honestly, it’s electric. Both of them shine on their own, but together it’s next-level stuff. If you’re only familiar with one of them, this pairing might seem surprising at first. However, both artists have a history of stepping outside their usual lanes and thriving in genre-blending collaborations.

The phrase “No Cap,” as far as I know, means no lie. And truthfully, this track has plenty to be hyped about. It’s Disclosure’s first release of the year. After dropping their knockout 2023 album Alchemy, they’re coming back strong with this collab. Over the years, Disclosure has worked with the likes of in2minds, Arachnids, and Pa Salieu, so teaming up with Anderson feels like a natural next move.

The song itself is pure energy—groovy, high-tempo, and impossible not to move to. I can easily picture it lighting up dance floors in clubs everywhere. It even reminded me of the kind of energy I felt seeing Fred Again… live recently. There’s also this subtle, almost sneaky percussion tucked into the background. You might not catch it on the first listen, but it drives the song forward in a hypnotic way. And yes, the track stays pretty monotonous throughout, but here “monotonous” works in its favor, pulling you into a trance rather than losing your attention.

As for the duo behind it, they’ve actually known each other since 2015 and were already big fans of each other before meeting. Anderson has called this collaboration “long overdue” and praised how easy the song is to dance to. I have to agree. Anderson .Paak just doesn’t miss. Every track, every feature, every genre he touches—he brings his signature energy and charisma, and it works every single time. Even when he steps into unexpected territory, his style shines through. Disclosure built the perfect soundscape for him here, and he ran with it.

As one YouTube comment put it, “Disclosure and Anderson .Paak dropping bangers as usual,” and honestly, it’s hard to disagree. Another listener joked, “This is definitely gonna be in 50+ commercials this year,” which feels entirely possible given how instantly catchy and danceable it is. So what are you waiting for? Go give “No Cap” a spin.
