Dream as One Ushers Viewers Out of Avatar: Fire and Ash

Miley Cyrus has released her newest single, Dream as One, which is now available to download and purchase. The song, written by Cyrus along with Andrew Wyatt, Mark Ronson and Simon Franglen, will play during the end credits of Avatar: Fire and Ash. It will also appear on the film’s official soundtrack, which arrives on December 12 and features a score composed by Simon Franglen.
Advance tickets for Avatar: Fire and Ash go on sale Monday, November 17, through Fandango and other major ticket sellers. The third chapter in James Cameron’s record breaking science fiction franchise will debut exclusively in theaters worldwide on December 19 in IMAX 3D, Dolby Cinema 3D, RealD 3D, Cinemark XD, 4DX, ScreenX and other premium formats.
Fans will also get a special look at the film on November 17 during ESPN’s Monday Night Football. A halftime celebration will introduce viewers to the Nightwraith, a new creature from the world of Pandora, followed by an exclusive preview. The game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Las Vegas Raiders begins at 5:15 p.m. PT and airs on ESPN, ABC and ESPN2.
Dream as One is a steady piano ballad that highlights Cyrus’s trademark rasp and emotional vocal phrasing. Listeners have already responded with enthusiasm. One fan commented, “This is the kind of song that makes you stay seated through the credits just to cry a little longer. Avatar with Miley is a spiritual experience.” Another joked, “This movie is not ending happy.”
The song features a shift into a major key during the chorus, which one commenter described as a nice change in energy. The tonal lift helps create an anthemic and hopeful feeling that reflects the film’s themes of unity, resilience and love. Cyrus sings about devotion and connection, touching on lines such as You are my home, no matter where I go. The chorus reinforces the central message of togetherness with the line When we dream, we dream as one.
Avatar: Fire and Ash brings audiences back to Pandora for a new adventure with Jake Sully, Neytiri and the Sully family. The film is directed by James Cameron with a screenplay by Cameron, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. The story is credited to Cameron, Jaffa, Silver, Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno. The movie is produced by James Cameron and Jon Landau, with Richard Baneham, Rae Sanchini and David Valdes serving as executive producers.
The cast includes Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, David Thewlis, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi, Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Jo Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Brendan Cowell, Bailey Bass, Filip Geljo, Duane Evans Jr., and Kate Winslet.
