Portuguese pop star Diogo Piçarra is set to return to London next year, bringing his polished and emotionally charged live show to Islington Assembly Hall on Friday, 27 February 2026. The announcement arrives as welcome news for fans who have followed his rise from televised talent show champion to one of Portugal’s most influential contemporary artists.

Piçarra first stepped into the spotlight in 2012 after winning Ídolos, Portugal’s version of the global Idols franchise. The victory launched a career that has since spanned songwriting, production, authorship, and a reputation for live performances that routinely sell out venues across Europe.

His debut album, Espelho, arrived in 2015 and quickly went Platinum, setting the foundation for a string of chart-topping releases. The follow-up record, dos, sparked more than 130 sold-out shows, while 2019’s South Side Boy brought him to Lisbon’s Altice Arena, where he performed to a full house of 20,000 fans. The feat cemented his status as one of Portugal’s premier live acts and a dependable arena-level draw.

Piçarra’s catalogue reflects his wide-ranging musical identity, moving comfortably between pop, R&B and more experimental textures. He has collaborated with leading Portuguese voices such as Carolina Deslandes, Bispo, Agir, Jimmy P and Ana Bacalhau, as well as international acts including Anavitória, António José and Vitor Kley.

In 2024, Piçarra expanded his ambition with SNTMNTL, an album that embraces a bold, international sound while preserving the poetic lyricism that has defined his career. The project was launched with two more sold-out arena concerts in Porto and Lisbon and is now at the centre of his extensive SNTMNTL Tour. The tour has already included major European dates, drawing more than 9,000 fans to his performance in Lausanne and 30,000 in Paris.

His upcoming London show follows previous sold-out international appearances and is expected to offer the same mix of precision, passion and connection that has turned his concerts into emotional gatherings for Portuguese fans abroad and new listeners discovering him for the first time.

The event is presented by Como No, London’s leading promoter of Latin American music since the 1980s. The organisation has helped shape the city’s relationship with Latin sounds for decades, supporting artists from across Spanish and Portuguese speaking communities. Since 2023, Como No has been recognised as a National Portfolio Organisation by Arts Council England, further solidifying its cultural role.

Piçarra’s return to the capital promises an evening that blends his biggest hits with the expansive vision of his latest work, making it a standout date in London’s 2026 live music calendar.
