The track topped the Official Singles Chart during the Christmas week after a closely fought race that played out across December. Wham!’s Last Christmas briefly threatened to reclaim the crown mid month, while All I Want for Christmas Is You once again surged up the charts, but Minogue pulled ahead in the final tally.

XMAS is a catchy, upbeat, feel good pop song packed with festive pleasantries, from glittering synths to classic Christmas bells, leaning into the joyful side of the season rather than nostalgia. Its bright, modern production helped it stand out in a chart often dominated by familiar holiday staples.

The song gained momentum through a combination of strong sales and heavy streaming on Amazon Music, where it was released, alongside physical formats that proved popular with fans. Despite limited availability across other platforms, the track managed to outpace the festive giants that usually dominate the top spot.
