Gibson Custom has partnered with Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards to create a highly collectible version of one of rock music’s most iconic guitars, the 1960 ES-355. The collaboration introduces two editions of the same guitar, offering fans a rare chance to own a signed replica of Richards’ legendary instrument.

The Collector’s Edition, Signed Guitar and Label is the most exclusive version, with only 50 units produced. Each guitar is signed by Richards on the f-hole label and the back of the headstock. The Signed Label Edition features the same handcrafted guitar, but only the f-hole label is signed, with 100 units available. Both editions are handcrafted in the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee, and will be available worldwide through Gibson.com, authorized dealers, and Gibson Garage locations in Nashville and London.

Keith Richards first played an ES-355 in 1969 during the recording sessions for Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main St. His black 1960 model has been a fixture on Rolling Stones tours since 1997. The new Gibson Custom recreations replicate every detail of the original, using 3D scanning, period-correct materials, and hand-aging by Murphy Lab artisans to mirror decades of wear and tonal characteristics.

The guitars feature a multi-ply maple and poplar body, a maple centerblock for sustain and reduced feedback, and a mahogany neck with a custom profile based on Richards’ original. The bound ebony fingerboard includes mother-of-pearl block inlays, and premium hardware includes a Bigsby B7 vibrato tailpiece, Grover Rotomatic tuners, and Custombucker pickups with Alnico 5 magnets.

“This is my standard-tuning six-string,” Richards said. “My six-string stuff has always been a great Gibson. It feels comfortable, and the sound works through just about any amp. It gives you room for expression.”

Each guitar comes in a Gibson Protector series case with a certificate of authenticity and a replica of Richards’ strap. These editions give collectors and fans a chance to own a piece of rock history.

Keith Richards, co-founder of The Rolling Stones, has influenced generations of musicians with his blues-driven riffs and distinctive style. Born in Dartford, England, in 1943, Richards has co-written some of rock music’s most enduring hits, including “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” and “Start Me Up.” He continues to perform with The Rolling Stones and remains a symbol of rock and roll’s enduring energy.

Prices range from $19,999 to $29,999 for these guitar editions.
