Plovdiv in Bulgaria, one of Europe’s oldest cities, will welcome a major new international music event with the launch of the PhillGood festival from 17 to 19 July 2026. The event brings together legendary artists, contemporary acts, and immersive cultural experiences at the city’s Rowing Canal.

Headliners for the inaugural edition include The Cure, Gorillaz, and Moby, placing Bulgaria firmly on the global festival map at a moment of rapid national change. The country is preparing to join the Eurozone, has recently introduced a digital nomad visa, and is gaining recognition as one of Europe’s fastest growing cultural destinations.

The festival site lies along Plovdiv’s iconic Rowing Canal, surrounded by the city’s seven hills. Organizers say the location reflects the character of a city shaped by Roman, Ottoman, and modern influences, offering visitors world-class music within a historic landscape.

The opening night on 17 July will be led by The Cure in their first Bulgarian performance. They will be joined by Wolf Alice, Irish dream-rock band Just Mustard, and French electronic producer Perturbator. On 18 July, Gorillaz will present their trademark mix of music and visual storytelling, supported by Belfast hip-hop trio Kneecap and British electro-punk duo Sleaford Mods. The final night features Moby, whose career as an artist and producer has helped define electronic music for more than three decades.

Alongside the main stage, two additional stages will host a wide range of genres and emerging talent, underlining the festival’s focus on discovery as well as established names.
