Rising electronic star BUNT. continues his breakout run in 2026 with major momentum, earning a spot in Rolling Stone’s coveted Future 25 list while being dubbed an “EDM Superstar” by the publication. The recognition arrives as the German producer prepares for his highly anticipated Coachella debut next weekend and releases his brand-new single, “i need u,” featuring Berlin singer-songwriter Malou via Arista Records.

The explosive collaboration showcases BUNT.’s signature stutter house sound, blending euphoric production with emotional vocals in what is shaping up to be another festival-ready anthem. Reflecting on the inspiration behind the track, BUNT. shared that the song was born during a late-night flight.

“I made this little song idea on the plane,” he said. “It was an overnight flight and I had the window seat. I remember looking outside seeing just pure darkness, but it wasn’t scary. It felt so peaceful, which was the inspo for this song idea. And I hope you guys resonate with it.”

The new release adds to what has already been a landmark stretch for the producer, who has sold more than 300,000 tickets in the past 12 months, including a sold-out stadium headline show in Mexico City. His rapid rise has been fueled by nonstop touring, viral streaming success, and a growing reputation for high-energy live performances that have made him one of dance music’s most talked-about names.

Earlier this month, BUNT. made a surprise appearance at VALORANT Masters Santiago, where he debuted “Clarity (VALORANT MIKS BUNT. Remix),” a collaboration created with Riot Games. He also recently appeared in a Sonos campaign, reflecting on his journey from struggling artist to global touring sensation while breaking down his hit song “Clouds,” which has now surpassed 450 million streams worldwide.

BUNT.’s recent momentum follows a string of successful releases and collaborations with artists including Elley Duhé, Tom Odell, The Chainsmokers, and Tiësto, along with his rework of The Temper Trap’s classic hit “Sweet Disposition” titled “What If You Fly.” He was also tapped by Taylor Swift for an official remix of her chart-topping single “Opalite.”

After being named one of Spotify’s 10 Dance Artists to Watch, BUNT. has continued to exceed expectations. In 2025 alone, he played 156 shows across five continents, selling over 200,000 tickets while bringing his signature pop-up performances to cities including New York, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Hamburg, London, and Berlin.

Now, 2026 is shaping up to be even bigger. BUNT. currently has more than 100 dates scheduled, including performances at EDC Las Vegas, Lollapalooza, and Electric Love Festival, plus a Las Vegas residency at Wynn. He is also set to headline major venues across Europe, including a 20,000-capacity show in Cologne and 30,000 tickets sold in Munich.

Originally from Germany, BUNT.’s journey to international success has been anything but conventional. After leaving his job to pursue music full time and moving to the United States, the producer faced setbacks during the COVID-19 pandemic that forced him back to Germany amid financial hardship. Despite the obstacles, he remained committed to his craft, eventually breaking through in 2023 with his viral smash “Clouds.”

Since then, BUNT. has amassed more than 1 billion streams, performed over 350 shows worldwide, and established himself as one of the most exciting new forces in electronic music. With major festival slots, massive touring numbers, and a rapidly growing fanbase, BUNT.’s breakout story appears to be only just beginning.

Meanwhile, collaborator Malou continues her own ascent as one of electronic music’s most sought-after singer-songwriters. The Berlin-based artist has worked with names including Diplo, Armin van Buuren, John Summit, Oliver Heldens, Elderbrook, and Vintage Culture, and is currently preparing to launch her own solo project in 2026.

Together, BUNT. and Malou’s new track “i need u” arrives as a fitting soundtrack to a year that is proving transformative for both artists.
