Jon Pardi Takes Over the Royal Albert Hall as UK Country Craze Grows
For years, American country music’s growth in the UK has been talked about as a rising trend. But over the past week or so, Jon Pardi looked less like an emerging export and more like an established arena attraction.
The multi-platinum country star wrapped the UK leg of his 2026 HONKYTONK HOLLYWOOD TOUR with packed crowds across London, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow and Belfast, underlining just how far modern country music has travelled beyond its traditional American roots.
Pardi’s run began at London’s Royal Albert Hall as part of the Highways Festival before moving through major venues around the country, with audiences embracing the full Nashville experience. Cowboy hats, boots and mass singalongs became a familiar sight throughout the tour, with fans loudly joining in to hits including “Dirt on My Boots”, “Heartache on the Dance Floor”, “Head Over Boots” and “Heartache Medication”.
Critics also appeared won over by the energy of the shows, with Pardi earning praise for his lively stage presence and crowd interaction. The Mirror described “country fever” spreading through the venues as audiences enthusiastically sang along “with hit after hit”.
Part of Pardi’s appeal lies in how comfortably he blends modern country production with a more traditional honkytonk spirit. Since emerging more than a decade ago, the California-born singer has built a reputation for reviving classic country sounds while keeping enough rock energy and radio-friendly hooks to appeal to younger audiences.
That formula was on full display throughout the UK run. Alongside fan favourites, Pardi also performed newer material including “Boots Off”, which recently topped the UK Country Chart for two weeks, further highlighting his growing popularity with British country audiences.
The successful overseas tour arrives as Pardi prepares to revisit one of the defining records of his career. On June 12, he will release California Sunrise (10th Anniversary Edition), an expanded reissue of his breakthrough 2016 album featuring three previously unreleased tracks from the vault.
The anniversary edition adds “Drinkin’ and Dancin’”, “If I Had Another Heart” and the recently released “How Did You Know” to the album’s original tracklist, while limited-edition vinyl versions are also being released for collectors.
A decade on from California Sunrise, Pardi’s rise reflects the wider boom country music continues to experience internationally. Once considered a niche genre in Britain, country now regularly fills major venues, headlines festivals and dominates streaming playlists.
For Pardi, the reception across the UK suggests his audience abroad is no longer just curious. It is committed.
