YUNGBLUD Scores Third UK No.1 Album with ‘IDOLS’

YUNGBLUD has clinched his third consecutive UK No. 1 album today, with Idols officially topping the Official Albums Chart. Released on June 20 via Locomotion/Island Records, the record marks a bold new chapter for the genre-blurring star — and a major milestone in a career defined by risk, rebellion, and raw honesty.

The No. 1 trophy, presented today by the Official Charts Company, caps off a huge week for the Doncaster-born artist, who now adds Idols to a run that already includes chart-topping releases YUNGBLUD (2022) and Weird! (2020). Across his full catalogue, Yungblud has now racked up more than 7.6 billion streams globally.

A POWERFUL COMEBACK YEARS IN THE MAKING

Idols had its live baptism just one day after release, when Yungblud headlined the inaugural Bludfest at Milton Keynes National Bowl on Saturday, June 21. The show, packed with fans and new music, felt like a defiant return after four years in the making.

“I was so f*cking nervous to release this album,” he told the crowd during the show. “But to see the amount of love that you are giving it… I love you all so much.” He closed with: “I’ll remember this night forever.”

CRITICAL PRAISE AND MASSIVE MOMENTS

The rollout for Idols began in March with the 9-minute epic “Hello Heaven, Hello,” which debuted as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record via Jack Saunders. What followed was a series of unforgettable moments — from a surprise bartending shift at the Hawley Arms in Camden, to the release of “Zombie” starring Florence Pugh in its gut-wrenching music video.

The critical reception has been just as loud:

  • “A nine-minute rock opera.” — The Guardian

  • “A David Bowie-style power ballad.” — The Times

  • “Yungblud like you’ve never heard him before.” — Kerrang!

  • “A genuine Gen Z rock phenomenon.” — Evening Standard

UK ARENA TOUR COMING IN 2026

Fresh off Idols and the success of Bludfest, Yungblud will take the album on the road next year with a massive UK & Ireland arena tour in April 2026, including his biggest-ever headline show at London’s O2 Arena.

2026 Tour Dates:

  • 15.04.26 – Dublin, 3Arena

  • 17.04.26 – Leeds, First Direct Arena

  • 18.04.26 – Cardiff, Utilita Arena

IDOLS FORMATS & COLLECTIBLES

Idols is available now on multiple formats, including collectible vinyl variants, exclusive CD editions, and signed prints. Each vinyl edition includes a 4-page lyric booklet and one of six unique litho prints designed to form a cross-shaped image when combined.

With a No. 1 album, a sold-out festival, and an arena tour on the horizon, Yungblud continues to prove why he's one of the most electrifying and unpredictable forces in British music.
