Luke Combs Surprised with 3X-Platinum Plaque as ‘Twisters: The Album’ Wins ACM Film Award

Atlantic Records celebrated a major milestone yesterday as executives Kevin Weaver, Brandon Davis, Ian Cripps, and Joseph Khoury, who produced Twisters: The Album, received the prestigious ACM Film Award at ACM Honors in Nashville. The award, inspired by Tex Ritter, recognizes an outstanding television movie, series, or feature film released during the previous year that prominently features Country music.
Adding to the excitement, Luke Combs was surprised on the red carpet with a 3X-Platinum plaque for his hit song “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma”, featured on the Twisters soundtrack. The special moment was captured in a standout photo by David Bergman, showing Combs alongside the album’s producers.
Directed by Oscar nominee Lee Isaac Chung, Twisters stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, and Anthony Ramos and was released in summer 2024 through Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., and Amblin Entertainment. Twisters: The Album serves as the film’s star-studded musical companion, featuring 29 original tracks from top Country artists including Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Miranda Lambert, Megan Moroney, and Lainey Wilson. The album is the first full-length original Country soundtrack since 1980’s Urban Cowboy.
The soundtrack has made an impressive mark on the charts: it ranked #22 on Billboard’s Best Albums of 2024, earned two GRAMMY nominations—including “Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media” and “Best Song Written for Visual Media” for Combs’ track—reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 for four consecutive weeks, and became the first Country soundtrack in over 13 years to reach the Billboard 200 Top 10. To date, the album has amassed over 500 million U.S. streams.
Atlantic Records recently expanded its country footprint with the launch of its country-leaning imprint, Outpost, further solidifying the label’s commitment to Country music.
The album’s production team includes Atlantic Records executives Kevin Weaver, Brandon Davis, Ian Cripps, and Joseph Khoury, along with Universal Pictures’ Mike Knobloch and Rachel Levy, who served as music supervisors. Director Lee Isaac Chung and executive producer Ashley Jay Sandberg also contributed as soundtrack executive producers.
Twisters: The Album continues to capture audiences with its high-energy blend of contemporary and classic Country, while Luke Combs’ soaring single and the album’s chart-topping performance highlight the soundtrack as a defining musical moment of 2024.
