Will Young Hits the Road to Feed the Nation’s Rescue Dogs

It’s not every day you see a pop star trading a tour bus for a lorry filled with dog food—but then, Will Young has always danced to his own beat. This September, the chart-topping singer and co-founder of Miraculous Meals is hitting the road with a very different kind of tour.
Instead of packed arenas, Will’s audience will be wagging tails and grateful rescue workers. The Miraculous Meals Road Trip will see him travel across the UK, personally delivering £50,000 worth of food to frontline dog rescue centres that are under more strain than ever before.
For Will, this journey is about much more than just music. “It’s heartbreaking to see rescue centres under such strain, which is why we created Miraculous Meals—to turn something as simple as feeding your dog into a lifeline for others,” he explains. “I’m really proud to be setting off across the UK to help raise awareness and to deliver food to the incredible teams working tirelessly to give rescue dogs the second chance they deserve.”
The challenges facing rescue centres are stark. At Birmingham Dogs Home alone, caring for a single dog costs around £150 per week—sometimes much more if medical treatment is needed. With as many as 240 dogs in their care at any given time, the bills are eye-watering. And they’re not alone. Across the country, centres are being pushed to breaking point by rising costs, falling adoption rates, and an ever-growing number of dogs needing help.
That’s why the Miraculous Meals team, with Will at the wheel, will be making food donation stops at some of the UK’s most overstretched centres, including Hope Rescue in Wales, Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home, Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home, Birmingham Dogs Home, the National Animal Welfare Trust, Blue Cross, and Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter.
For the staff at these centres, the deliveries can be the difference between surviving and sinking. Vanessa Wadden, CEO at Hope Rescue, describes the impact plainly: “This donation will feed every dog in our care for a significant amount of time. It’s a huge relief at a time when costs are spiralling and demand for our help has never been greater.”
The road trip will cover hundreds of miles, stopping at rescue homes from Solihull to Newcastle, Edinburgh to Hungerford. At every destination, Will won’t just be dropping off meals—he’ll be shining a spotlight on the quiet heroes of the rescue world, the people working day and night to make sure abandoned and unwanted dogs aren’t forgotten.
It’s not the kind of tour Will Young’s fans might have expected—but perhaps it’s the most important one of his career. Because for every dog waiting in a kennel tonight, a simple meal really can be miraculous.
