Sam Fender is back with a special treat for fans: a collaboration with Elton John on the brand-new track “Talk To You”, released today as part of the upcoming deluxe edition of his critically acclaimed third album, People Watching, arriving December 5th via Capitol Records.

The song features Elton on piano throughout, providing a warm, flowing backbone to Fender’s heartfelt vocals, creating a space that feels intimate, reflective, and profoundly human.

One fan’s reaction captures the resonance perfectly: “4 weeks ago I lost a brother, an uncle, a best friend. Over night. 28 years he was in my life. We had his funeral and wake yesterday. I wake up and see this… I just want to talk to you. I’ve never felt something as much as those words. I miss you brother.”

A Song About Regret, Loss, and Connection

“Talk To You” is raw, reflective, and poignant. Fender’s lyrics explore grief, regret, and the desire to connect with someone lost:

“Just wanna talk to you / Wanna talk with my best friend / Wanna let go of everything that I carry / Wanna shoulder some of yours instead.”

The song’s intimate piano lines, provided by Elton John, flow seamlessly throughout, giving the track a sense of emotional lift without losing its contemplative edge.

Fender recalls the collaboration:

“I was playing around with the riff and thought, what I need is a really good pianist… who better than Elton John?”

Elton John adds:

“I couldn’t resist, and it was so much fun playing it for him. I truly love Sam. He’s been a friend for many, many years, and it’s incredible to see him grow into being a truly world-class artist.”

Deluxe Edition and Fan-Favorite Extras

The People Watching Deluxe edition includes eight additional tracks, featuring the limited edition Me and The Dog EP, collaborations like “Rein Me In” with Olivia Dean, and previously unheard tracks “Fortuna’s Wheel” and “The Treadmill”.

The original People Watching album, released in February 2025, was a commercial and critical triumph — selling over 100,000 copies in its first week in the UK and topping charts, followed by a series of sold-out stadium dates including London Stadium, where 80,000 fans celebrated Fender’s music live.

With the deluxe edition, Fender is offering fans a glimpse into the deeper emotional layers of his work, all while hinting at the next chapter in his musical journey.
