Christopher Maloney has confirmed that he has quit using Twitter for the time being after receiving a barrage of death threats from outraged X Factor fans.

The backlash comes after Ella Henderson was voted out in a shock result on Sunday night, leaving Christopher as one of the last contestants not to have been in the bottom two along with Jahmene Douglas.
