ADMT’s ‘Turn The Page’ Sets the Tone for a Warm, Nostalgic Summer

ADMT has released a new track called “Turn The Page,” and right away I can hear some clear influences. That is not a bad thing at all, but it feels like the right place to start.

The track takes me back to the early 2010s, with a sound that sits somewhere between Mumford and Sons and Ed Sheeran. That connection makes sense, especially since ADMT has cited artists like Ed Sheeran and even Motown legends as inspirations. There is a nostalgic, summery quality to the song that makes it instantly catchy. There is something special about a track that feels nostalgic the moment it arrives.

ADMT, whose real name is Adam Taylor and who is from Doncaster in the UK, is set to release his debut album on May 15th. He started out busking during the pandemic and even went viral for a cover of a 50 Cent track, which helps explain how his sound has taken shape. This single does a great job of building anticipation. If the rest of the album follows the same path as “Turn The Page,” it could end up being the kind of record that defines a warm, easygoing summer.

The elements here are simple. Drums, guitar, bass, vocals. Nothing overcomplicated, and that is part of the charm. Simplicity often ends up being the key to songs that really stick.

I can hear this track working almost anywhere people gather. It has a kind of versatility to it, like a Swiss Army knife. It fits just as easily on a drive as it would in a café or at a laid back summer pre party. For me, it is not necessarily a song I would sit down with headphones to study closely, but that does not take away from how well it is put together. It also reflects ADMT’s approach to songwriting, which tends to lean into honest and personal themes like relationships and mental health. That sincerity still comes through, even in a lighter track like this.

I am definitely curious to see where ADMT goes next, and the album release on May 15th is one to keep an eye on.
