Marshmello and Kelsea Ballerini blend country and dance on 'Another Drink'
Country music's crossover moment shows no signs of slowing down, and Marshmello is making sure he's right at the heart of it.
The Grammy nominated producer has teamed up with country star Kelsea Ballerini for Another Drink, a carefree summer anthem that blends acoustic guitars, handclaps and radio-ready hooks with Marshmello's polished pop production.
While Marshmello built his career dominating dance music, his recent run of country collaborations suggests the genre has become far more than an occasional experiment. Following successful releases with Thomas Rhett, Hudson Westbrook and Jelly Roll, Another Drink continues his evolution into one of country's most unexpected collaborators.
For Ballerini, the track arrives during one of the strongest periods of her career. Fresh from her acclaimed PATTERNS album and recent Mount Pleasant EP, she brings her trademark warmth and playful delivery to a song that feels tailor made for summer playlists.
Built around an infectious chorus and a tongue in cheek story about leaving heartbreak behind for a night out with friends, Another Drink leans into feel good escapism rather than emotional reflection.
Its standout hook, "No she don't wanna think. She just wants another drink," is likely to become an instant singalong moment for fans.
Marshmello said he enjoyed stepping further into country music while working alongside Ballerini.
"I loved the challenge of bringing my own approach to country production on this track, and I'm grateful to Kelsea for trusting my vision. She's an incredible artist and person, and we're both proud of this song and excited for everyone to hear it."
Ballerini revealed the collaboration had been years in the making.
"I've been a friend and fan of Marshmello's for years, and we've always wanted to find the right thing to work on together. This song came to life at the perfect time for us to combine our worlds for a fun, summertime jam. I hope it makes everyone cheers and dance."
The release is accompanied by an official visualiser starring both artists, arriving after days of teasing across social media.
For Marshmello, Another Drink also reinforces a remarkable run in country music that began with Kane Brown's Miles On It, which became the first song ever to debut at No. 1 on both Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Songs and Top Country Songs charts. His collaboration with Thomas Rhett, Where We Go, has already surpassed 11 million Spotify streams, proving there is growing demand for his country inspired sound.
With Ballerini continuing to cement her place among modern country's biggest stars and Marshmello pushing even further into Nashville, Another Drink feels less like a one off collaboration and more like another chapter in country music's increasingly genre-blurring future.
