BADBADNOTGOOD, or BBNG, has just released a new track called “Found A Light”—and it’s packed with beautiful, subtle moments. One of the best parts? The spotlight they’ve given to featured vocalist V.C.R. It’s refreshing to see a band of BBNG’s stature fully credit and elevate the singers they collaborate with. V.C.R might still be considered indie, but she’s already made some waves on her own. Here, though, she truly shines—her voice is top-tier, and it’s easy to understand why BBNG chose to work with her.

The track itself is rich with detail. Soulful melodies weave through crisp drum breaks and vibraphone flourishes. The use of vibraphone, in particular, instantly brings to mind the sound of Roy Ayers—if you’re unfamiliar with his work, now’s the time to explore. That blend of warmth and coolness gives Found A Light a vibe that feels both laid-back and intentional.

What makes this song especially captivating is its effortless feel. It almost seems like it doesn’t care if you’re listening—and yet, you can’t help but be drawn in. There's a hopeful tone running through it, not just lyrically, but in the structure and flow of the whole arrangement.

I hadn’t checked in with BBNG since their IV album, and this track reminds me why I’ve always appreciated them. Their sound has evolved, but their consistency remains. While some of their earlier work was more direct, I really enjoy when they settle into a jam and let things breathe. It feels like they’ve reached a point where they’re just making the music they want to make—not chasing trends, just following their own creative joy.

Finally, the production on Found A Light is stunning. The mix is flawless—clear, balanced, and warm. While official mixing credits aren’t listed, the production is credited to BBNG themselves, so it’s likely they had a hand in it. The end result is a track that feels polished, expressive, and deeply musical.

If you haven’t already, do yourself a favor and give Found A Light a listen. It’s the kind of song that makes an ordinary day feel just a little more magical.
