Miley Cyrus has returned with a deeply personal new track, “Secrets,” featuring Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac. The song leads her newly released Something Beautiful Deluxe, an expanded edition of her critically acclaimed visual album, adding two new tracks that highlight Cyrus’s knack for intimate storytelling and bold collaborations.

Musically, “Secrets” carries definite classic Fleetwood Mac style, from the layered harmonies to the rhythmic interplay between Buckingham’s guitar and Fleetwood’s signature percussion, giving the track a timeless, warm-rock feel that perfectly complements its emotional core. The song represents a significant addition to Miley’s extensive and accomplished career.

The official video, directed by Cyrus alongside Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter, was filmed at Los Angeles’ historic Million Dollar Theatre, the same location that inspired the original album artwork. In the video, Cyrus dons striking couture from Iris Van Herpen and Maison Margiela, continuing her partnership with the designers she recently represented in their latest campaigns shot by Paolo Roversi.

Fans have responded emotionally to the track on YouTube, with many noting its intimate connection to Cyrus’s personal life. One fan wrote:

“The fact this song is about the reconciliation with her father Billy Ray, and she included members from Fleetwood Mac because they’re her dad’s favorite band… I’m emotional.”

Cyrus herself opened up about the song’s inspiration on Monica Lewinsky’s Reclaiming podcast earlier this year:

I wrote this song about my dad because I wanted him to tell me — even though they were secrets, even though I didn’t really want to know — I wanted to be the one he felt safe enough to tell.”

The deluxe edition also features “Lockdown,” a 13-minute collaboration with David Byrne, further expanding the sonic and conceptual scope of the Something Beautiful era.

Released today, Something Beautiful Deluxe is available on all streaming platforms, giving fans both a new look at Cyrus’s artistry and an intimate glimpse into her personal life.
