Canadian teen singing star Justin Bieber and US rapper Eminem were the big winners at the Billboard Music Awards.

 

Each of the stars from the opposite ends of the musical spectrum, won six awards with Eminem taking home the accolade for artist of the year despite not being there himself to pick up the award in person.

 

In the first televised Billboard Music Awards ceremony since 2006 Justin Bieber thanked everyone for his success saying that he wanted to thank “everybody who helped me get out of my home town.”

 

Justin Bieber added: “I'm 17. Every day is crazy to me because I see so many people and I get to make so many people smile.”

Lady Gaga has released another single from her new album Born This Way, via iTunes although her record company is saying that it is no an official single.

 

The new track, The Edge of Glory, is a another glimpse into the Born This Way album to be released to the public on May 23.

 

Lady Gaga let her fans know about what was going on with the track in her usual way, through Twitter.

 

She Tweeted on Sunday evening: “My song THE EDGE OF GLORY will be released on iTunes tomorrow to begin the countdown to another album release!”

The Warner Music Group has been bought for $3.3 billion after the Russian born billionaire Len Blavatnik won a bidding war to secure the company for his Access Industries company.

The music company has been sold by chief executive Edgar Bronfman Jr and the private equity firms Thomas H Lee Partners and Bain Capital Partners after they purchased the company for $2.6 billion back in 2004 from Time Warner.
