JLS band member Aston Merrygold, was left “freaked out” at the news that a female fan had broken into one of his apartment complexes. The singer, who was not present at the time, was told of the incident later in the day. Incidents of this kind seem to plague the band at the moment, with other members finding intruders in their homes.

Noel Gallagher is often cited as the driving force behind the band Oasis, where and the band saw phenomenal success in the 1990s.  Since the much publicised split with Oasis front man and brother, Liam Gallagher, the band split up and both brothers have gone in their own directions. Where as Liam Gallagher formed a new band, Beady Eye, who have recently announced tour dates, Noel Gallagher has opted for the studio to record a new studio album.

With the release of the top ten controversial records of all time, it seems a way of achieving success is to create a record that manages to get itself banned, or at the very least a bad reputation. The top three in the list, all achieved this status, with the Prodigy’s 1997 ‘Smack my Bitch up’ topping the poll. The Sex Pistols, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, and XTC were all in the top ten.

It is a strange phenomenon that we tend to crave that we cannot have, regardless of the quality of the song. Though people rave about ‘Smack my Bitch up’, it is arguably not one of the bands best. The title and the fact it was banned providing a platform for its success. It is a little like gore in a film, it tends to bring in a larger audience if a movie has some, and a few more people if it has a lot. So the banned record achieves fame and sells a lot.

Ironically, though the Prodigy’s other songs have received critical and public acclaim, ‘Smack my Bitch up’, is likely to be the band’s legacy song.

With the judges and indeed other contestants seemingly against him, Wagner’s popularity seems to know no bounds. They went on to say that most likely a member of staff at the X-Factor has spread the rumour maliciously, presumably to damage the contestant’s credibility on the show. This latest upheaval for the young singer has not come at a good time, as she found herself in the bottom two along with Paige Richardson in last weekend’s show. As the show ploughs on to the final, a change of perception by the public may ruin the young girl’s dreams, and seeing as she’s had them for as long as she can remember, it would be a crushing blow for her should these rumours cost her votes in next weekends show.

Cher Lloyd joins a long list of this years finalists that have been accused rightly or wrongly of having a few flings since the finals began. Katie Waissel, Matt Cardle and nearly all of One Direction have been the subject of gossip in this regard, and perhaps topping the list were rumours of Wagner and Mary having a bit of a romantic interlude.
